Combined effect of orthotic intervention and conventional exercise training on balance and gait performance in cerebral palsy: a randomized controlled trial

Abstract Background This study aimed to examine the combined effect of orthotic intervention and conventional therapeutic exercise training on balance gait performance in children with cerebral palsy. was a randomized control trial. Forty dyskinetic palsy both genders ages ranged from 12 16 years were included. Participants groups received program for two 2 h ours per session. The treatment conducted three sessions week, twelve successive weeks. Children group additionally wore TheraTogs undergarment strapping system. Pediatric Balance Scale score postural stability indices (overall, anteroposterior , mediolateral) evaluated by Biodex System assessed (in groups) at baseline after weeks treatment. changes step length, cycle time, cadence, velocity also measured an electronic walkway. Results showed significant improvements scores all variables post-treatment compared (P < 0.05).
